Drama-

A situation or succession of events in real life having the dramatic progression or emotional effect characteristic of a play.
Ex. Romeo and Juliet

Dramatic Irony
When the audience knows something the characters in the play don't. Ex. We know Romeo and Juliet are married when their parents don't.

Foil
A character who contrasts another character Ex. Romeo and Tybalt

Soliloquy- a speech where a character thinks out loud. Ex. Juliet on the balcony talking about the Nurse.

Aside- a comment to the audience Ex. When Romeo says "Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?"

Tragedy-A play dealing with tragic events and having an unhappy ending Ex. Romeo and Juliet dying

Comic Relief-Comic episodes in a dramatic or literary work that offset more serious sections. Ex. When the Nurse talks about Juliet as a baby.
